The original 1875 Sharps Rifle is the rarest of all the Sharps Rifle models. In its original form, only five prototype 1875 rifles are known to have been built with all five differing slightly from one another. The 1875 Model was conceived by Christian Sharps as a stronger, lighter, and simpler rifle to manufacture.

C. Sharps Arms Co. founder John Schoffstall redesigned the 1875, continuing the legacy of Christian Sharps’s thoughts for the 1875 Model. John applied modern manufacturing techniques to it, which allows us to offer a stylish yet rugged C. Sharps Arms 1875 Model to our customers at an attractive price.

Through the use of high-quality investment casting the 1875 receiver is made into a light but extremely strong action that is capable of housing cartridges up to and including the massive 50/140 Sharps Straight. The 8620 steel investment receiver castings undergo the same high-quality machining, hand fitting, and quality control processes as our other models ensuring another heirloom quality product for our customers.
